How to Fit 2,291 Items in Your Ingress Inventory

I found an old screenshot of mine and decided to post a riddle about game mechanics and quick wits.

The riddle: how do you get what’s in this screenshot?

That is, how do you fit well over 2,000 items into your Ingress inventory (2,291, for example)? You all remember the 2,000-item inventory limit — only occasionally could you go slightly over it with glyph hacks or when leveling up.

If you did — well done, you’re at least not a newbie in the world of Ingress; you could say advanced, or even a veteran

For those who didn’t, here’s the answer: I bought 5 Key Lockers. Portal keys stored in these capsules don’t count towards your inventory. Key Lockers appeared not long ago; you can buy them as a pack of 5 or one by one, but no more than 5. The pack is cheaper, and they come in different colors.

So if you load these lockers with keys and then unload them, you can get an overflow like the one in the screenshot above.

P.S. I did it by accident — I just unloaded the keys to re-sort them and tidy up.
