Ingress Cassandra Neutralizer: I Missed the Medal

I had a hunch that a medal was on offer when I noticed double AP and lots of “dinosaurs” coming out to take down portals.

I don’t follow the news and didn’t want to bother. I googled a bit on my phone, found nothing much in articles — I should have checked social media.

Afterwards I saw the medals people got and felt a bit sorry — I should have gone for it.

A short description.

The Cassandra Neutralizer event ran until July 22, 2018.

Every unique portal you destroyed added points to the medal counter.

Uniqueness wasn’t tied to portals you had visited.

The medal had three tiers — 100, 300 and 1,000 unique portals destroyed.

This is the silver Cassandra Neutralizer medal for 300 portals taken down:

Another perk was extra AP for capturing portals: deploying the first seven resonators gave double AP, and deploying the last one gave 875 AP.

I made good use of that, although at level 16 AP no longer gives any practical advantage.
