Ingress Myriad Hack Challenge

News from the world of Ingress.

Something called Myriad is preparing to damage the portal network. To gather intelligence and investigate, from 20:00 on July 11 to 20:00 on July 22, Ingress agents need to make 13,000,000 unique portal hacks in total. Each agent’s hacks are counted separately.

And there’s a medal up for grabs — interested yet?

If the 13,000,000 unique hacks goal is reached, then from 20:00 on July 29 to 20:00 on August 7 the portal hack cooldown will drop from 5 to 4 minutes, and portals will hit back weaker when their resonators are attacked. Otherwise the cooldown will rise from 5 to 6 minutes and portals will hit harder. Not a big deal, we’d survive, but better not to let it happen…

The bonus is nice: if it works out, from 20:00 on August 1 to 20:00 on August 5 each agent can deploy 2 resonators of levels 7 and 8 and 4 of levels 5 and 6 — so one agent can build a level 6 portal, or two agents a level 7!

And most interesting — hurry to earn the Myriad Hack Challenge medal!

Bronze — 100 unique hacks
Silver — 350 unique hacks
Gold — 750 unique hacks

I’ve already started the challenge and added my first 6 unique hacks to my own and the global total

I’ve missed many medals before, so this time I want to try for gold — join in!
