How the blog started:

Back in 2008, during the New Year holidays, I came up with the idea of starting a blog to write down all kinds of useful information — I had accumulated quite a lot of it by then.

In those days I worked as a system administrator in a group of companies with lots of different computer equipment. I planned to write not only about work, but also about other things that, I thought, might be interesting to other people.

I picked the domain carefully: I wanted a short one (5 characters) in the .com zone. That wasn’t easy! Short domains were becoming rarer, and I didn’t want to type a long string of letters in the browser — and a short one is easier to remember. Thanks to Dimas: a piece of his password was stuck in my memory That’s how the nemcd.com domain — and Antonio Nemcd — came to be.

What the blog is about:
I write about interesting things, events, plans, tips, people, how to solve problems I’ve run into, my own and other people’s travels, and much more. About what interests me and may well be useful to you.
