A Trip to Velykyi Burluk for an Ingress Anchor Portal
A blue field had been hanging over Kharkiv, and it was starting to get annoying.
So I checked where the anchor portal was and how far it was.
It was in Velykyi Burluk, a town famous for its cheeses.
I’d never been there — so that’s where we were going!
A long bus ride, with the road badly broken in places. As expected, Velykyi Burluk is a small town you can walk around in half an hour to an hour. We circled around and captured portals. I was pleasantly surprised by a decent café in the center.
We had a tasty lunch there ![]()
There was also a big aquarium with fish and a turtle.
The turtle takes a lunch break:
My trained eye spotted an unusual object in a “super boat” style that wasn’t an Ingress portal yet. I submitted it right away, and it was accepted!
Like any small town, Velykyi Burluk is unique in its own way, and at the same time it’s a place where young people can’t stay long unless they’re farmers at heart. A great place for a childhood and a quiet old age.
So — buy tickets and head home to the big city!
