New Boots for Ingress
Ingress doesn’t just make you walk a lot — it demands it ![]()
Since around mid-August I’ve walked 713 km — and that’s only what was counted. How much more I walked with the screen off, with a bad internet connection and so on, and how much I rode by bike, I can’t even count.
In summer I walked in new Chinese sneakers (I never wrote about them, though I meant to), and in autumn and winter — in boots.
My old winter boots couldn’t survive all this and fell apart almost completely.
I started reading what people recommend and buy online, and read about my Chesters too ![]()
Everything pointed to one thing: buy in local shops and you may get a fake that won’t last long.
I remembered that a friend had advised me to look for shoes on 6pm.com. I went to 6pm once again — the choice is simply fantastic!
Lots of nice and interesting options pop up right away, for example…
Clarks Padley Mid — $105 on sale. To me they look stylish and should be good quality.
Tommy Hilfiger Hugo — $65
Also pretty good.
The choice is huge, and the photos on 6pm make you want to buy right away ![]()
But there’s one catch — shipping. People usually order from such foreign sites in groups to make shipping cheaper. I needed boots here and now, and had no time to wait a month.
So I went around local shops and bought these Markos winter boots at Champion Obuvi:
Not Clarks or Tommy Hilfiger, of course, but they seem fine; with the discount they came to about $52.
Let’s see how long they last. The laces look a bit delicate, but the sole tread is impressive ![]()
