Aurora Glyph Hack Challenge — Ingress
New events in the augmented reality of Ingress!
The storyline: agents’ actions brought victory over Myriad — they failed to damage the Portal network. The July events gave a glimpse of who Nemesis is and what they might be after. Myriad was only one piece of the puzzle.
Aurora is the second piece — another person or organization that wants to harm our universe, searching here for a secret that no longer exists in their own world. To stop them, Niantic asked all agents to make as many Glyph hacks as possible from August 15 to August 26, 17:00 UTC.
So these are the peak days of the event, and if you didn’t know — now you do! Until August 26 you can earn one of three beautiful Aurora Glyph Hack Challenge medals.
You need to glyph-hack different portals, upgrade them to the next level and glyph-hack again — without mistakes!
Each portal gives a maximum of 5 points.
If you make a mistake in a glyph sequence, you can’t get that point on this portal at that level anymore!
The Aurora Glyph Hack Challenge rules in more detail:
Portals offer glyph sequences of 1 to 5 symbols, depending on the portal level. Each successful glyph hack earns one point if you draw every glyph correctly on the first try. You can earn up to five points per portal, one for each sequence length. But if you fail a sequence on the first try, you can no longer earn the point for that length on that particular portal.
In a couple of hours I glyphed enough for the bronze medal and decided that was enough, although at first I wanted the top one.
There’s still time until August 26, though — maybe I’ll get onyx after all.
You can see your points at the very bottom of your agent stats, in the same place as the Myriad Hack Challenge.
Challenges nicely liven up the game, and you have to be flexible to get the reward — especially the top one
