Canon F151300 Is the LBP3010 — Which Cartridge Fits (Canon 712)
Someone once asked me to help with a printer. I asked what model it was.
“Canon F151300” — oh, I thought, what kind of beast is that?
It turns out the F151300 is, in ordinary terms, the Canon 3010, or more officially the Canon i-SENSYS LBP3010.
Here is the Canon LBP3010 — usually white and quite handsome:
Which cartridge does the Canon LBP3010 use?
This is another frequent question. The printer ships with a Canon 712 Starter cartridge.
If you buy a second cartridge, it will be the regular Cartridge 712, not a starter, i.e. filled completely (it is rated at about 1,500 pages at 5% coverage).
To lower the initial price of the printer and gain a competitive advantage, almost all manufacturers now fill the bundled cartridge only about half way.
According to Canon’s official site, the Cartridge 712 Starter comes with a yield of 700 pages. Of course, many people ignore the printer maker’s warranty and refill the 712 Starter and other cartridges, which noticeably reduces the cost of printing.
