Ingress Lawson Power Cube: What It Is and What to Do with It

Not long ago Ingress announced a new item — the Lawson Power Cube.

I read up on it — it’s interesting: a beautiful cube, said to be rare and to have special properties.

And literally today (well, yesterday) Lawson cubes started dropping for many people — usually for those who hack a lot, which makes sense.

I got lucky too: a cube dropped from my fifth portal on a glyph hack.

This is how the Lawson cube looks in Ingress:

I only have one cube, so I haven’t tried it yet.

According to the descriptions, the amount of XM in the cube depends on the level of the agent who uses it:

So you activate the cube, and for a couple of hours (or less, until it runs out) it keeps refilling your XM.

Lawson Power Cubes are Very Rare (like AXA shields or MUFG capsules), so they won’t drop often — the drop rate is probably closer to that of a red capsule.

So for now it makes more sense to put rare cubes into a red capsule to multiply them, and pull one out like an ace up your sleeve when you really need it
