Ingress is a game by Niantic Labs, which was part of Google (literally a couple of hours ago it was announced that Niantic Labs has left Google and become an independent company).
Niantic Labs now has “great new partners”, whose names haven’t been revealed yet, and plans to bring even more new players into the game.
Ingress was created back in 2012! (Many people still haven’t heard of it, even though it has been downloaded more than 12 million times.) So what makes Ingress so interesting and innovative?

I got a cheap Chinese bare-board USB to COM adapter.
Then it stopped being recognized and Windows asked for an unknown driver.

If you’re looking for its driver, you’re in the right place.
VEN_10EC is Realtek and DEV_5209 is the Realtek PCIe Card Reader (SD card reader controller). SUBSYS_90AD104D means it’s in a Sony VAIO laptop.

I pulled an old Samsung R40 Plus laptop out of the closet, and finding its video driver sent me all over the ATI site, driver archives and forums.
The laptop came with Windows Vista; Windows 7 is a better choice.
Windows 7 ran fine (I added some RAM to make it snappier — an SSD would help too), but there was a problem with the video driver.
