“Helicopters” in Ingress — GPS spoofers — are a very bad thing. They’re cheaters. Sometimes you don’t notice them; they do their dark deeds in secret and sell in-game items (bursters, mods, resonators, capsules, JARVIS viruses and so on). That’s still tolerable — let people buy if they have the money and are too lazy to farm portals.
But sometimes spoofers do real damage to the factions (usually both their own and the other one). It’s often very visible during field operations, when an anchor portal is taken down by a spoofer right after the field is built, or, the other way around, a spoofer builds the field. People report them, accounts get banned, and the cycle repeats.
But look what else can be sold besides inventory
Keys to any portal!

So if you want a field and no cross-links are in the way, you just buy keys and throw links. Or you accidentally burned a key to an achievement portal and don’t feel like going back, or it’s too far (in another country, say) — buy a key and you’re done.

I found an old screenshot of mine and decided to post a riddle about game mechanics and quick wits.
The riddle: how do you get what’s in this screenshot?

That is, how do you fit well over 2,000 items into your Ingress inventory (2,291, for example)? You all remember the 2,000-item inventory limit — only occasionally could you go slightly over it with glyph hacks or when leveling up.
The answer is below

Not long ago Ingress announced a new item — the Lawson Power Cube.

I read up on it — it’s interesting: a beautiful cube, said to be rare and to have special properties.

Ingress doesn’t just make you walk a lot — it demands it
Since around mid-August I’ve walked 713 km — and that’s only what was counted. How much more I walked with the screen off, with a bad internet connection and so on, and how much I rode by bike, I can’t even count.

In summer I walked in new Chinese sneakers (I never wrote about them, though I meant to), and in autumn and winter — in boots.

Yesterday I was near the 23 Serpnya metro station in Kharkiv — I’ve decided to complete at least one Ingress mission every day (it’s getting cold, and long evening walks like in summer won’t work anymore).
I got a bit cold, and one of the Kulinichi bakeries warmed me up. Kulinichi is a nice local thing (Kyiv doesn’t have it, for example): cheap coffee with a croissant or a Kaiser roll for about 22 UAH. McDonald’s is fine too, but there are fewer of them, and a latte alone is 20 UAH plus 20–40 UAH for a burger.
There’s a great little park at 23 Serpnya — I really like it, and yesterday it was especially unusual. A phone photo probably won’t convey the beauty, but take a look.

Warm lamp light, evening, yet everything is bright, white snow and trees all around. Next to it — a soldier monument, cannons, a memorial, benches
Beautiful.
