Silent Install of Adobe Acrobat Reader (Command Line)
If you install software more often than once every few years, an automatic, or “silent”, installation saves a lot of time.

To install Adobe Acrobat Reader quickly and without any questions (tested on versions 7.x, 8.x and 9.x):
Old versions (Reader 7–9)
1. Unpack the installer .exe to get a set of files including AcroRead.msi:
AdbeRdr910_ru_RU.exe -nos_nd -nos_ne -nos_o"D:\Acrobat Reader 9.1\setup" |
2. In D:\Acrobat Reader 9.1 create a file, e.g. setup.cmd, with this line:
start /wait .\setup\setup.exe /sAll |
Done — run setup.cmd and Reader installs silently.
Current Acrobat Reader
Modern Acrobat Reader installers support silent install directly:
AcroRdrDC_xxxx_en_US.exe /sAll /rs /msi EULA_ACCEPT=YES |
/sAll— silent mode;/rs— suppress reboot;EULA_ACCEPT=YES— accept the license so users aren’t asked on first launch.
On Windows 10/11 you can also use winget:
winget install -e --id Adobe.Acrobat.Reader.64-bit --silent |
