Dolph Lundgren: Amazing Facts and Photos
When I hear the name Dolph Lundgren, I immediately think of my youth — almost my childhood, really.

It was a touching time: the first VCRs, tapes, posters of favorite actors, and every film was worth its weight in gold. Films didn’t come out in batches back then, and everyone knew and loved them: Rocky IV, Universal Soldier, Red Heat, AWOL and many more.
Amazing facts about Dolph Lundgren
I happened to read some excerpts from Dolph Lundgren’s biography, and they really amazed me:
- His real name is Hans Lundgren. He was born on November 3, 1957, in Sweden.
- As a child he was insecure, suffered from allergies and called himself a “runt”.
- He holds a black belt in Kyokushin karate, was the European heavyweight champion in 1980 and 1981, and in 1982 won a full-contact karate tournament in Australia.
- Education: the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and Washington State University (chemical engineering), and a master’s in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney (1982). He won a Fulbright scholarship to MIT but quit after two weeks to pursue acting.
- He worked as a nightclub bouncer in Sydney, and in New York at the Limelight club.
- He was a bodyguard for singer and actress Grace Jones, and the two became a couple.
- On the set of Rocky IV, Lundgren hit Stallone so hard that Stallone spent nine days in intensive care.
- In 1996 he was team leader of the US Olympic modern pentathlon team at the Atlanta Games.
The perfect man: several languages, degrees, martial arts. That’s who to look up to! Telling other losers at the pub about your hard life is not something to aspire to.
